Why reinvention is natural and necessary, the benefits and how to
start.
Just as nature trees loose their leaves to almost bare and blossom brilliantly and effortlessly
Are you following nature’s flow in your life?
Creating a new version of YOU. Why is it important to self-express who you are presently and at any given
time?
Take a little moment and think back of the 2012 version of you. Think of the thoughts you were pondering, the type of challenges or life demands you were facing (i.e job, financial, home, relationship or personal changes). Now think of the 2011 version of yourself and so on and on. Now my question to you is: who is the REAL YOU today?
How much of the old you have you let go and still carrying around like a monkey on your back getting a free ride and making your life a lot heavier than needed?
Have you noticed that nature goes through incredible replenishing cycles? Rivers dry out and overflow. Trees loose their leaves to almost bare and blossom brilliantly and effortlessly. Animals shed coats and grow new soft and shiny fur. And with humans, not only our bodies go through dramatic changes but so does our personal soul.
Just as nature we must remember to shed the old and embrace the new and for us ladies, it is so important to not only embrace it but also to celebrate the heck of it!, as this is where our feminine power, beauty and grace rest.
Body perfection is not the foundation of high self-esteem!
Are you happy with your current mirror’s reflection?
Are you working out consistently or going from diet to diet and are still not happy with the results?
Do you magnify certain parts of your body and are unhappy with what you see?
Did you know that 8 out of 10 women and 4 out of 10 men are not happy with their current image?
Our bodies are beautifully wired and every thought, movement & emotion has a big part in forming ‘our’ self-image, which then creates as our self-esteem.
Body perfection is not the foundation of high self-esteem! Hmm, you ask. Yes, that is correct. Flick through your favourite magazines and you will find a number of celebrities who battle to match their own mental self-image. You would be surprised to know that in an interview with Nicole Kidman she talked a lot about how she wished to have looked differently; to have had more curves like Marilyn Monroe. In an interview with Cherlize Theron she said that she did not see herself as beautiful! Yes, it seems strange that most of these body-beautiful women are not content with their outer image.
Whether you want to change your body or just come to terms with who you are, isn’t it time to start accepting and embracing your body?
It is very rare that someone is 100% satisfied with their body. There will always be something we all wish to change now and in the future.
You often hear me talk about dressing to enhance and learning to flaunt ‘your’ assets and the art of optical illusion to camouflage those less flattering areas (which we all have).
So how can we begin to appreciate and accept our bodies just the way they are?
Everyday you are given the chance to appreciate YOU
How amazing it is to wake up and be inspired by your wardrobe combinations, knowing that each garment you pick delicately drapes your body and helps you adorn the beautiful woman that you truly are. Clothing is your most intimate environment, and your home is second. We spend a lot of time and money decorating our homes so it reflects our personality and translates who we are. However, we only invite into our home the people that we like while the whole world gets to see you everyday.
So take each piece of garment as an intricate piece that represents you. Wear colours that enhance you, nourish your body, and make you glow. Choose fabrics and styles that embrace your shape against wearing baggy style to hide it. As a client so adequately said “women are wearing clothes that block our femininity”.
If you take a little look around the majority of women look like walking rectangles, using clothing to hide the parts they do not like instead of dressing to enhance. How much appreciation do you give yourself through clothing?
So why not bring new awareness and energy to your life and make a commitment that from now on you will only drape your body with clothing that makes you feel yummy.
Every morning you are gifted with an opportunity to celebrate YOU!

_Hello my gorgeous
Last weekend was the start of my birthday week and I love that in fact it falls in New Zealand during our annual Waitangi Day celebrations so this short week is all about ME!
Today’s message is about birthdays, aging and never failing to celebrate you. I notice more and more that as we get older (I like to say mature .. like expensive wine) the more we like to play down our age and birthdays. Like it is some curse haunting us to our grave.
I so often see clients’ cringe when they tell me they are reaching or have reached their 30’s, 40’s or a certain age. Like it is something we should shy about, like we have contracted a terminal disease.
I don’t know about you, however, doesn’t it seem ridiculous to deny both who we are and our precious time we have shared so far in this planet with our loved ones? Isn’t it insane that society has influenced our ability to ‘mature’ with so much grace and beauty?
So today come on and celebrate with me ... let’s have a party. The kind of party where we are all standing tall and proud of our maturity, our wisdom and life experience, where we no longer deny the totality of who we are. And ... why not prepare ourselves to receive the most precious gift this Valentines ... YOU!
Please feel free to share your comments :)
Happy birthday to you all!
